10 Best Dressed People of the Year 2012 (UK)

HELLO! Today's post is a first for me! It’s my first 'Top 10' post and in this I am going to list the top 10 best dressed people of the year 2012 (UK)! Although this list is related to the UK, it might contain names of a few celebs who are actually not from UK but still their dressing style had considerable influence in UK in terms of popularity! Let me mention I did quite a lot of research (mainly through the internet) and scanned through a lot of pics of various celebrities and especially gave priority to the dresses they wore in the year 2012 and so I mostly looked at pics of them visiting a major event (mostly in the UK) and made my final choice after carefully looking at their pics. Finally, I managed to zero in at 10 celebrities. Then I started rating their dress and accessories based on the color, cut, form, style and overall appearance. I have posted their pic (courtesy Google) in this list for you to look and decide! I am sure most of you will agree (some of you might not as well) with my choice of 10 best dressed people of 2012 (UK) Okay on with the list!

At No. 10 is.......... Adele! This Grammy Winner and platinum record selling artiste is not just known for her divine voice but also for her dress sense! She doesn't resort to wearing super glamorous outfits [unlike her contemporaries] but instead chooses to dress in a very elegant and classy manner! Check out this outfit she wore at the Grammys last year and you will agree with me:

No.9.......... Jennifer Tilly. This actress is well known in the US and has a cult following in UK as well thanks to her offbeat roles in movies such as the 'Chucky' series. Apart from being a famous
actress she is also a professional poker player and takes part in major poker tournaments! Anyways here she is in a cool looking dress she wore at an event recently.

No.8........ Michelle Obama. The First Lady of USA not just gets praised for her dressing style in The US but also over here in the UK! Her dresses manage to attract attention wherever she goes and its rightly so as she manages to dress elegantly just like the wife of a president should!

No.7.............. Tom Cruise. Leaving aside his personal life and beliefs he manages to attract attention not just with his super handsome looks or infectious smile but also his dress style! Not many guys in UK will admit that they like to imitate his dressing style or mannerisms! No matter what outfit, Tom somehow manages to look cool in it and remember the dude is in his 50s but still has a loyal following amongst the young even today! Check out this cool outfit he wore in 2012

No. 6.............Shane Warne. The famous Aussie spinner is currently dating Elisabeth Hurley! He is quite the ladies’ man and its evident that it’s not just his looks which gets attention but also his dressing style as well! Here he is at an event wearing a formal suit!

No. 5.................Kim Kadrashian. She might not be from UK but so what; she is one of the most popular celebs in the UK inspite of not being from here! And it’s with reason so! Her show keeping up with the Kardashians is super popular in UK and whenever she visits the UK she gets mobbed by 1000s of fans! Her dressing style is widely copied by many all over the world and UK is no exception. Here is a pic of her in a super cool yellow gown:
No. 4...........Kate Moss. Inspite of the fact 100s of supermodels came after her she still manages to attract attention. Some say it’s her drop dead gorgeous looks and some say her dressing style which is very popular throughout the UK! I am in full agreement with both and this pic of hers from 2012 proves it:

No.3........... Cheryl Tweedy [Formerly Cole]. She might no longer be associated with the X factor but Cheryl Tweedy [formerly Cole] still manages to get talked about whether it’s about her drop dead gorgeous looks or her super cool outfits! Her dressing style is widely imitated not just in England but in the US and Europe as well! She has her own dress line and most of her outfits are selling like hot cakes!

At No.2 it is............... David Beckham. The sexy hunk manages to make it to almost every well-dressed celebrities list out there and mine is no exception! Whether it’s a body hugging T or a blazer or just plain a plain brief [!] this hunk manages to make it look good!

No.1 Best Dressed Celeb of 2012 is............... The Duchess of Cambridge [Kate Middleton]. It’s no surprise she made it to no. 1 in this list! Her regal and pretty looks compliment almost any dress out there and it’s the dress which gets the honors when she wears it than the other way around! Almost every dress she has worn has been copied and worn by 1000s of women out there! Hey it’s not without reason she has been tipped to be the next queen of Great Britain!

JINNYLash Review / FOTD

HELLO!  Belated New Year 2013 Greetings to all of you! This week I “lashed out” a bit and decided to go for a set of colourful, playful, multi glitter lashes on my friend's b'day party. I received two set of lashes from JINNYlash, who stock a full range of fabulous lashes for any occasion. The two pairs of lashes that I received were - Black Swan Strip lashes and Disco Diva Strip lashes.

Black Swan is a set of wispy lashes with added black feathers. They are thinly spaced and the length of the lashes increases as you move from the inner part of the lash to the outer part of the lash. They give your lashes a lot of length, as opposed to volume.

Disco Diva is a dramatic multi glitter lashes with added length and shape for extra impact. They are ultimate party lashes giving a terrific look and perfect for a special occasion!

The lashes come in a pretty box with nice damask pattern on the sides which I am  displaying  on my dressing table these days! Each pair comes with a mini tube of lash glue which I think is a clever idea as you don't have to rush to the town to get a lash glue in case you run out of them! The mini lash tube also comes very handy while travelling or touch ups during the day.

The best part about these lashes is that they are very sturdy yet lightweight and therefore last a long time plus the strength also means they are very easy to clean.

FOTD- me wearing the Disco Diva lashes :)

I really like these lashes for nights out but feel are a little too heavy for daytime use!

Tip- when using the glue – instead of dropping it onto the lash, rather slide the glue across the upper lash line using a thin applicator such as a toothpick.

So there you are! That was my post about JINNYlash eyelashes! So have any of you tried them or planning to? How do you feel about it?

OUTFIT: Ombre Jeans!

HELLO! I really needed these Ombre jeans in my life!!! I totally LOVE everything about these jeans- the colour  the ombre effect, the zip detailing on the sides, the fit, the material, everything is so PERFECT! They are super skinny, skin tight jeans but feel like a second skin on you! Gosh I love how they make my legs look so slim and my butt look amazing too :P. These Jeans are from www.zalando.co.uk. Check them out here.
If you are interested in these Ombre jeans then you might be better off ordering a size bigger because I had ordered them in Size 26 (UK Size 8) however when I received them the tag on these jeans showed a Size 26 but on the label inside the jeans it was showing a Size 25! I was lucky to fit in them as I'm a small Size 8 but if you are true to your Dress size then you may find them a bit too tight for you. For those of you who find Size 8 jeans a bit loose on them but cannot manage to fit into a Size 6 dress either then these jeans are your best bet for a super skinny look!

OUTFIT
Ombre jeans from Only ( zalando.co.uk/clothing)
Cream Blazer from Topshop
Button Court Shoes from Fearne Cotton
Silver Balenciaga style handbag from eBay

This winter, I am loving the Ombre trend!

Sleek True Colour Lipstick / FOTD

HELLO! I'm loving these lipsticks from Sleek MakeUP! These are nicely pigmented, creamy, and affordable ( £4.99 each from SleekmakeUP website)! The packaging is elegant and the colour is long lasting, I can get around 3 hours wear before it starts to fade. There are 20 shades of these lipsticks and they are available in two finishes - Sheen and Matte. I have these lipsticks in shades ‘Barely There’ and ‘Fuchsia’, both have a sheen finish. I Love both shades!

I would wear the Fuchsia on a night out or during the evening and wear Barely There during the day as it looks so light and fresh, and looks gorgeous with dramatic eye makeup!

The Sleek True Colour 'sheen' finish lipsticks just glide on and have a waxy finish, nice and shiny but still very pigmented.

The texture of these feel very similar to the MAC cremesheens.

FOTD - I'm wearing the Sleek True Colour Lipstick in shade 'Barely There'.

I love these Sleek True Colour lipsticks and I'm going to the shops this weekend to purchase matte colours :)

My Wonderful Firmoo Glasses!

HELLO! Firmoo is a global online optical store offering a wide variety of prescription glasses/sunglasses to pick from. Their eyeglasses are stylish yet affordable and their goal is - "Vision and fashion the frugal way". The best thing about Firmoo is that they have a first pair FREE program (just pay shipping) and you can get a refund/exchange if you're not satisfied!
When I was approached by Firmoo to review a free pair of glasses/sunglasses, I checked their website to see what they had to offer. Right away I was impressed by the amount of positive customer reviews they had and Facebook followers. I finally decided to order a pair of Semi-Rimlesss Prescription Glasses, firstly because I'm blind as a bat and secondly because I have too many sunglasses.
Within two weeks my glasses arrived. The glasses are stylish, well-made and they fit just right (Firmoo requires eye measurements so you get your perfect fit).
I was also impressed by the extras that came with the glasses, i.e. carrying case, pouch, etc.
The glasses are amazing! It has got a clip-on so that you can also wear them as sunglasses and nobody can ever tell that you are wearing a pair of specs underneath!
The clip-on protects the eyes from harmful UV rays and its a great alternative to the your standard pair of sunglasses!
These glasses are so fabulous, I did something I rarely do, I took some pictures of me wearing the glasses to prove it!
The glasses are great and it's so easy to order!
Christmas is around the corner so don't wait, get your free Firmoo eye wear as a Christmas gift for yourself, friends or your family!!

November Empties

HELLO! I enjoy reading these kinda posts a lot and thought it would be a good way to share my November empties post! Today I am reviewing a bunch of skincare, haircare and makeup products that I've been using in my daily routine and now they are all empties. I really like a few of them while some of them I am not very keen on and won't be repurchasing it.

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation - This is one of my all time favourite foundation and I've finished my second bottle and very much set to buy my third bottle. I use this foundation in shade 125. I'm a shade NC25-30 in MAC depending upon the season. I would say this foundation shade is more close to NC25 and has got a neutral tone. I absolutely love its texture and it hides my skin imperfections very well. I highly recommend this foundation. Click link to see full review - Make Up For Ever HD Foundation.

N.Y.C Smooth Mineral Loose Foundation Powder with SPF 12 - I like to use a mineral foundation on days when my skin is sensitive and when I am in hurry and need a quick fix. So far, my most beloved 'mineral' foundation is the Bare Minerals foundation, the N.Y.C one is just okayish, it doesn't give a great coverage and luminescence but it's not as expensive as the Bare i.d foundation, I sometimes use it instead of loose powder and it works fine for that.

Jason Organic Vitamin E with A & C Body Enhancing Shampoo - I have had this from Summer last year and you can tell its old! It wasn't very expensive but being an organic as well as a skin friendly product I was expecting much more from this, sadly it's not something I'm going to repurchase to cleanse my hair, its not a bad product but I am more happy with my newly purchased Matrix shampoo (a review later) so I rather use this for cleaning my brushes, it works great and is kind on my brushes and skin, thanks to its organic nature.

Lush Ibiza Party Shampoo - This shampoo would make a great everyday shampoo, but the fact is that I don't wash my hair every single day so I am not keen on repurchasing this, it does lather up well but it does not have a strong cleansing power. I like the smell of it and for the price it's not a bad buy.

Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic Almond Moisturising Lotion - bought this lotion from India earlier in this year but because of its thick texture I opted to not use this in the summer and finally started using it by mid August. It's a nice moisturiser for colder season and I recommend it for combination to dry skin. I like the light almond scent on this a lot. It needs a bit of massaging into the skin but does not leave any greasiness behind, I might stock on this on my next trip to india.

Ayur Tulsi Neem Fase Wash - This one's a fail. I hate its smell, its a major put off for me, infact there is still a bit left in the tube but I couldn't be bothered. It is not a great cleanser either so my advise is to skip on this one!

Ayur Herbal Deep Pore Cleansing Milk with Aloe Vera - I LOVE this! This cleansing milk is so gentle yet so effective! It removes waterproof makeup very well and nourishes my skin at the same time, it does not drag on my skin like some cleansers do, neither does it make my skin super oily or sticky. This was my second bottle and I am definitely going to repurchase it and would recommend it to anyone!

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser for Dry/Sensitive Skin - Well I am on fence with this one, I like it when my skin is normal, as its meant for dry/sensitive skin it does not work its magic when my skin is behaving badly/dry. I like the smell, it's a quality product made with natural ingredients and apparently safer to use on sensitive skin but unfortunately for me it does not heal my skin when its dry/sensitive and hence defeating the purpose.

Charles Worthington Results Full Volume Maximum Volume  Conditioner - This conditioner does nothing for my hair, feels heavy and weigh my hair down. The ends of my hair need something more intense to banish the frizzies! I wouldn't recommend it! I am currently using the Matrix conditioner and so pleased with it, will defo do a review on it soon!

I hope you enjoyed my November Empties post. If you've used any of these products, please let me know!

Mini BarryM Haul / NOTD

HELLO! A few weeks back while shopping at a local Boots I came across a fantastic offer which was hard for me to resist! BarryM were giving away a free nail polish for a minimum purchase of £6 and I was cuffed as I really like Barry M nail paints and as it was ages since I bought any BarryM products I decided to  treat myself with some makeup goodies!

So I got myself a BarryM nail paint in Hologram (I've been lusting for this for a long time!) and a liquid eyeliner in Black as I'd just finished my old Rimmel eyeliner and wanted to try something new.
