Lush Bunty Set

HELLO! I received the Lush Bunty set a couple of months but have only just got around to finishing it.

The Lush Bunty set comes wrapped in a yellow paper with pretty pink polka dots all over and contains two bath bombs and two bubble bars. The bath bombs are - Space Girl and Think Pink. The bubble bars are - The Comforter and Creamy Candy.

Space Girl Bath Ballistic

Oh the smell of fruity goodness! It is covered in glitter and is pink and purple. It turned the water into a glittery purply-blue color. This was my favorite part of the Lush Bunty set and I would buy it again as a separate, mainly because of the smell.

Mini comforter Bubble Bath

It looks like a little cake you could eat! This gave a ton of bubbles and turned water awesomely pink! It’s meant to be crushed up under the water and you can get more than one bath out of it which is awesome!

Think Pink Bath Ballistic

It turned the bath into a Barbie-pink color and the bathroom smelling like a delicious sweet shop, this is a must-have for any girl! It also added twist of confetti hearts which I thought was a cute bonus.

Creamy Candy Bath Bubble Bar

It looks so pretty and smells of candy floss, a scent which lingers on the skin a few hours after use! It’s got almond oil and cocoa butter in it and feels a little bit more moisturising on the skin than the other bubble bars in the Lush Bunty set. However, I liked the comforter bubble bath a tad bit more for the amount of bubbles it creates as the bubbles in this seemed to dissolve as fast as they were made.


Overall, these bath bombs from Lush will brighten up anyone's gloomy day! If you love everything pink, fluffy and sweet, you will adore the Lush Bunty set!

HELLO! I have used lots of eyecare products but there are very few that I like and very very few that I fell in love with and today's post is about one of them - the SkinCeuticals AOX+ Eye Gel from their Prevent range!

Yardley London Bath & Body Set in Peony

HELLO! Yardley has been dominating my bathroom shelf for a quite a while now, from soaps to hand creams to body lotions, my fondness for Yardley products is growing by the day!

My latest possessions from Yardley London are the Bath and Body set in Peony (sent to me by the Yardley PR). Peony is a modern, fruity floral scent with top notes of fresh green leaves, complemented at its heart by a combination of peony flower, red currant, geranium and heliotropand undertones of warm amber. It's a nice, delicate and fresh scent with a little bit of green note to it and even though the scent is not floral enough for my taste  it has definitely started to grow on me.

Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel: My New Favourite Moisturiser!

HELLO! I love to try out any new or interesting versions of skincare products. So you can understand my enthusiasm when recently I was approached by the PR representing SKINCEUTICALS to try out two of their products and this review is about Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel and the review about the other will be posted by me in the coming days. Before going onto the review let me give you a brief primer about Skinceuticals. They are a world famous skincare company who create highly specialized skincare products developed through extensive scientific research. They are manufactured using a combination of antioxidant ingredients and some of them have even received patents in USA! Their products are sold only through a specialized distribution network comprising of Dermatologists, Cosmetic Surgeons and very high end Spas. The market is flooded with skincare products from various brands and are best suited for general everyday use but a time comes when these products don't work and you need some really serious skin care products and this is where Skinceuticals come in! Due to the high quality ingredients used and their been highly effective in treating skin conditions, Skinceuticals products are priced on the higher side but then they are worth every penny you spend! There was a time when I wouldn't spend more than 30 pounds on a skincare product, but after trying out the two Skinceuticals products I received for review I can say that henceforth I will not hesitate to spend more money to buy their products, I am so glad I got a chance to test these products on myself and now if someone asks me to return it back to them I will not do it!
Hydrating B5 Gel is a highly specialized moisturising fluid and is more suited for people whose skin has started to mature or age and ended up dry and sensitive! People on the younger side with skin problems shouldn't go for this as the first option and should preferably try correcting it with some over the counter skin care product and if that doesn't solve it, then you could try this product.

Dry Winter Skin & Hair Remedy: Argan Oil

HELLO! For about a month, I've been following the whole argan oil craze... I've always been concerned with maintaining a healthy skin care, especially during the winter season. Argan Oil is moisturising enough to combat winter's driest skin conditions & is known for its cosmetic, nutritive and medicinal properties.
Argan oil is one of the rarest oil in the world, it grows from the Argan trees...it only grows on certain places and one of the most popular places to get the argan oil is Morocco.
I recently discovered a great argan oil based product from Josie Maran Argan Oil line...the Argan Oil Moisture Stick comes in a pretty looking rose gold travel-friendly tube and looks like a stick of lip balm. I purchased it from eBay for around £26 (also available at Saphora).... I know that's a lot of money for 0.21 ounce of product but my winter skin has been thanking me a lot for the hefty purchase.

My Current Lip Care Routine

HELLO! Occasionally some of my readers have asked about my daily lipcare routine and so today I will tell you all what I regularly use on my lips to keep them smooth and supple.

My previous lipcare routine used to involve lightly scrubbing my lips using a toothbrush and Vaseline every morning hoping to keep them soft, till I discovered the Mint Julips Lip Scrub from Lush (£4.75) and now I just love this stuff as it makes my lips super soft and kissable! I just use a small amount of it and for about a minute lightly scrub my lips using my finger and wash it off. It smells and tastes great...just like a Mint chocolate...Lush says that this lip scrub is edible (contains Castor sugar and Jojoba oil as active ingredients) and so you can lick them clean!
It's really a mess-free product and is perfect for those who are prone to dry, flakey lips in winter, plus there’s a lot of product inside this cute little jar and I am sure it'll last me a long time too :)



My second must have product for lips is the Climate Control Lip Treatment by Dermalogica (£5.50).
I'm more of a lip balm person when it comes to daily lip care and prefer slathering this lipbalm on before putting any lipstick as it keeps my lips soft and supple and also acts as a smooth canvas for lipsticks. This almost unscented and tasteless lipbalm contains lovelies like shea butter, vitamin E and oat extract to soothe sore spots on the lips and lock in moisture.
I have tried so many lip products but so far none of them could be compared to this mighty little lip healer! This stuff has worked wonders for my lips and is worth every hype and penny!



Apart from all this, I also make sure that I drink plenty of water as my lips are the first part of my body to show up any signs of dehydration.

LOVE: No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Body Serum and Day Cream

HELLO! A few weeks back I decided to treat myself to a No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Body Serum and Day Cream and since then my skin looks radiant and feels silky smooth, and am very pleased with the results! I got the 'Intense' range mainly because it's formulated towards improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle and to reveal smooth younger looking skin! As I was going thru a dry skin phase lately and wanted to try out something that would essentially provide a fast, yet long-term relief from the dry and tight feeling of my skin which I experienced due to getting exposed to the cold weather outside or sitting for long durations in centrally heated environments.
I use the No7 Intensively Moisturising Body Serum (£27 for 200ml) to keep my legs and arms well moisturised and smooth. It has a refreshingly delicate scent, feels non sticky and leaves my skin feel soft and lovely and glides on smoothly and sinks into my skin quickly, and I need to use a small quantity on each area!



Protect & Perfect Intense Day Cream (£22 for 50ml) is a Non greasy and light cream. It claims to smoothen deep lines and wrinkles and has an SPF of 15 and 5 star UVA technology to give your skin advanced protection from the ageing effect of the Sun and environment.



I just LOVE this cream as it has a whipped cream-like texture which absorbs immediately, leaving no residue on my skin! I apply this twice a day and it leaves my skin well hydrated, smooth and radiant looking. I also like its light floral scent, which is so lovely and refreshing and not at all overpowering!



FINAL THOUGHTS. I am really impressed with the Protect and Perfect Intense range with the Intense Day cream a clear winner for me and I will be soon buying the Intensive Night Cream too!
I would recommend that one can go for this range if you are into anti-aging creams and want to look after your skin for the future, without spending a lot!

A Few Things I Am Loving Right Now...

Hey everyone!

It's Time for another 'Things I am Loving' ramble!
I've wanted to write such a post for a long time but was busy with my student life and the reason why I am lagging behind in my blog posts and to add to my woes - exams! - which are around the corner! I am just plain nervous about them and so request all of you to wish me luck!
Anyways enough of exam sickness and lemme go on to my ramble!

The Body Shop's latest offerings for the current season is quite impressive! I am lucky to have won both the TBS Kajal eyeliner in Steel, and Cheek and Face powder in Chestnut in Beauty Addict's Giveaway! She's a sweetheart, check out her blog! I just cant stop looking at how beautiful the Chestnut looks, with the embossed leaves looking so pretty! The Kajal in steel is something I look forward to wearing everyday as its such a nice frosty black colour and does not look 'heavy' on my eyes.

NARS eyeshadows in Faith (left) and Bengali are my personal choice for the autumn season. Both shades compliment each other so well when worn together,while Faith makes a nice eyelid color and Bengali being a perfect contour/crease color. To me it looks like they were made for each other!

I've been using Dove Pro-Age Neck and Chest Beauty serum for a week now and like it very much. It's a lightly fragranced and textured cream and makes my neck and chest area silky smooth! Neck, Chest and area around the eyes are usually the first to show up any sign of ageing and keeping them soft and supple is a sure way to a better, almost wrinkle-less tomorrow!

Oh my God! I think I am addicted to its smell! I bought TBS Spa Wisdom Milk bath ages ago but didn't use it as I was using other bath products at that time and its hardly been over a week that I got a chance to use it and all I can say is that it smells heavenly and my skin loves it!

Ever came across a lipliner in a rectangular form?! Model Co is the brand for you if you fancy serious shape deviation from your standard everyday lip liners! This is in the Honey Brown shade and goes very well with the nude lippies in my collection.

Being a big time shoe obsessionist, I am never satisfied with my shoe wardrobe and have an unsatisfied desire to possess every single good looking shoe in out there and add them to my ever increasing shoe family and so here I introduce to you the latest member of my shoe family - Roberto Botella (got from TK Maxx). Ohh I can't wait to wear them!

I have never been a tan person but this month I was feeling extra pale and pasty, since I prefer a healthy glow I was excited to try out the Glow Summer Bronze by Model Co. as I am a sucker for nice packaging and everything shimmery! The bronzer has a subtle golden shimmer in it which in turn imparts a nice glow to my skin, a swipe on cheekbones, across the forehead and maybe a little touch on my chin and I'm looking all glowy and ready for the day. What's better, it does not make me look like an oompa loompa!

Impulsive but indeed a gorgeous buy from ASDA! Love is in the air ;)

Thanks to my sweet bf who was generous enough to get me the The Body Shop Scent Collection Pack! It contains a variety of travel size scent bottles, packed full of deliciously sweet/tangy smelling fruity scents. These could be sprayed together for a unique personalised scent, which infact allows me to be a bit playful with them! My fav among these is the one that smells of chocolates, its oh so yummm!!

Thinking of chocolates makes me feel peckish, so off I go and grab some choccies!!

Now, before I go into the nitty-gritty of B.Liv products, let me introduce to you my skin type :) I have a combination skin, my problem areas are my dry nose and cheeks and oily chin and forehead region. I have blackheads and whiteheads on my nose and cheeks that needs a weekly extraction with my trusty Biore pore strips. I do have crater-like pores on my cheeks and feel the urge to exfoliate my skin every other day to get rid of any dirt, makeup and old sebum stuffed inside them. Stress, especially during my exams & PMS always takes a toll on my skin so I am always on a hunt for good skin care products that claim to target the problem areas of combination skin and yet be gentle enough on the skin, which is why when I was contacted by Selina from Cellnique to try a few b.liv products that are formulated to target the problems areas of my skin, I couldn't resist... Squeaky Clean (USD 25 for 130ml): This is a light weight, green, non sticky liquid cleanser with microfine beads (synthetic beads) for gentle exfoliation. It contains Peppermint oil, Aloe Vera Extract and micro beads as its key ingredients and smells like peppermint and aloe which I really like! In my experience, this cleanser is a must-have for every skin type! It makes my skin clean, refreshed and rejuvenated and GENTLY exfoliates it to get rid of the dirt, dead skin cells and unclogged pores. It removes the excess oil without stripping out the moisture or drying out my skin. This cleanser is truely a joy to use in the morning! It makes my skin glow and feel soft. The cleanser alone would not remove blackheads and whiteheads but will make the extraction effortless.

If any of you intend to try out the b.liv products and want to begin with buying just one product from this range, I would recommend you to get the Squeaky Clean to try first!

Off With Those Heads (USD 49 for 30ml): It is a non-sticky serum that comes in a bottle and pump dispenser. It contains Vitamin B3 & C, antioxidants and Oleanolic Acid & claims to soften the clogged pores and thus reducing blackheads and whiteheads. All you have to do is to dispense 1-2 pumps of the product and spread it across your T-zone, massaging it into your skin until the wet feeling is gone. It has a nice minty and citrusy scent and once applied on the T-zone, feels cool and tingly for a while. After using the serum twice a day for 2 weeks what I've observed is that most of my whiteheads are gone! I still have a FEW blackheads left but what I notice is that the pores on my nose appears to be unclogged and extracting the blackheads has now become a lot easier! I'm sure glad I tried this product it's a must try product, ladies! Unfortunately, I'm not able to locate the before and after photos of my nose...sigh :(

Shrink & Tighten (USD 49 for 30ml): Again, a non-sticky, easy-gliding serum with its main ingredients being the Collagen, Vitamin B3 & C, and Oleanolic Acid. It comes in a bottle with a pump dispenser and claims to make large pores disappear. It smells of witch hazel and menthol, while on the skin, it feels cool and I can feel a tingling sensation for about a minute. I've seen a LITTLE BIT of shrinkage in my large pores after two weeks near my nose where my cheeks begin, not exactly noticeable on camera but is visible from a closer look. Overall, I am QUITE impressed with its performance within 2 weeks time & will continue using this serum to see how long it takes for my craters(pores) to shrink them to an acceptable level.

Kick Spots Out (USD 32 for 6pcs): It is a thin transparent film-like mask, cut in a shape of face and claims to clarify blemish-prone skin, eliminate irritation-causing factors and control oil-production to prevent shiny skin while providing ample moisturization to the skin.

So far I have used two of these and have not noticed any miraculous difference in my skin except for things like it felt really nice and refreshing on my skin and had a very nice refreshing smell of cucumber. The mask was drenched in excess serum and it was dripping off from my face to all over my neck so I had to literally spread it across my neck region to avoid further dripping down to my chest. You also have to keep the mask on for about 30 minutes which I think is a bit too long to keep a mask on.

Anyways, after I took off the face mask, my skin looked glowing and healthy looking. It definitely felt moisturized from within.

Glow and Shine (USD 25 for 50ml): I received this in a sample size bottle. It is a thick white mask that has little exfoliating beads and is formulated for sensitive skin with large pores. You layer it on your cleansed face and leave on for 5-10 minutes and then massage it off. I like this product for its multi-functionality, it’s a mask and an exfoliator all in one. The mask feels really soft on my skin, smells amazing & made my skin tighter and brighter!

Overall, I find the b.liv range from Cellnique well worth a try and my favorites from this range being the Squeaky Clean and off With those Heads :)

Tips for shine-free face for people with oily/combination skin - Try these and you will see results!!

People with oily skin are considered to be the luckier ones in the sense that their face doesn't show up aging lines & wrinkles as early as compared to the dry skinned people. But when it comes to the shine free face unfortunately they are still struggling to achieve it :(

Especially during the summer heat, the facial oil glands are more active, pores get enlarged resulting in the settling of oil and dirt into them which causes ugly blackheads (tiny dark spots caused by debris, excess oil & makeup, which reach our skin surface)and acne(a skin disorder that is caused by inflammation of the small oil glands). And beacuse of the swelling of the oil glands, more oil comes out of the pores & makes the skin look oily/shiny.

Therefore it is important to maintain a skin care routine which is specifically meant for keeping the oilies at bay. Specific routine should be followed keeping in mind the climatic changes like for the summers you should follow a specific type of skin care & makeup routine. Start of with washing your face with an oil-free gel based face wash like Johnson's Clean & Clear Deep Action Gel wash which wont clog pores, then you can use a face scrub with fine granules like St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Blemish & Blackhead Control to remove dead cells, you can also use diluted lime juice for 5-10 mins if your skin is not very sensitive. Use a Clay face mask like St. Ives Mineral Clay Firming Masque once in a week to clarify the skin, the darker brown the clay, the more oil it can absorb. White or rose colored clays are gentler and work best on sensitive skin. Additionally you could also take facial steam to open up those pores and get rid of oil & dirt inside them prior to applying a clay mask.

Another secret for keeping the face shine free is using Milk of Magnesia (MOM) on face, (For me, Phillips MOM works very well) give the bottle a good shake, then using a cotton wool apply a transparent layer of the white milk, spreading evenly as possible on your skin, after moisturising (and priming) the face and before applying foundation. if you notice white streaks then rub with fingers to smooth out and allow it to dry. A thicker layer of MoM works as an oil-absorbing mask. Spread it on, allow to dry and rinse off for tighter-feeling oil-free skin, but do keep an eye on your skin condition as the skin can become parched and dry with prolonged usage.

Mattifying bases and lotions are also available in the market, I often use the Boots Expert Instant Matte for the shine free glow. It can be used under or over makeup and comes in a small bottle which is easy to carry away in my purse. I find that it does not always work well with liquid foundations (can create holes in the makeup if applied under/over it), but works well with powder and mineral foundations.

Oil Blotting Sheets such as the Clarity Shine Control Paper from Superdrug also serves as a useful on-the-go tool for maintaining the oil free look and helping your makeup last throughout the hot day. Their texture feels like a balloon and appears strange at first, but they rid your face of oil easily as well as grime and perspiration. they are portable and will fit wherever you go. These things save my life!! Aternatively you could also use tracing paper which I find works as good as the sheets itself.

Try to wear less make up during the summers as the heat would melt away the heavy makeup and make you looking like a messy oil slick. Use water based foundation with light to medium coverage or a tinted moisturiser for a light coverage. Avoid using cream based eyeshadows and blushers, stick to the water-proof powder version instead. Use a loose/pressed powder to set your makeup. Carry a retractable brush with some loose powder loaded in for touch-ups during the day. Use waterproof eyeliner/kajal, mascara and lipsticks. You can also set the lipstick by dabbing a tiny amount of eyeshadow powder of the matching color over the lips and then blot any excess with a tissue. If you fill you eyebrows then use a powder eyeshadow filler rather than a pencil, you could also use an eyeshadow in a shade which closely resembles your hair color and then set it by spraying some hair spray over an eyebrow comb and combing in the direction of hair growth and trust me your eyebrows will look fab all day!!

Last but not the least, avoid putting any hair oil close to the region of forehead as the oil might seep down to your forehead and face making it looking shiny and greasy.

So oily skinned people out there, need not to worry, you too can also look like a million-dollars if you follow these great tips!!!
